This site has nothing to do with the "Riggwelter Ale" from the "Black Sheep Brewery" but is the Home site for the "Mottershead Family" however we agree that "Riggwelter Ale" is one of the best Ales from this brewery and possible one of the best bitters brewed in the UK. Based in Masham in North Yorkshire the Black Sheep Brewery have been brewing since 1992 and now have five Ales on sale. These are Black Sheep Ale 3.8% ABV, Black Sheep Best Bitter 4.4% ABV, Monthy Python's Holy Grail 4.7% ABV, Golden Sheep 4.7% ABV and Riggwelter 5.7% ABV.

Black Sheep Ale is

the Old Norse: rigg-back and velte – to overturn. When a sheep
