Ribble Way

Longton to Gavel Gap 72 miles/115 km

You can follow the Ribble from its estuary near Preston to its source high in the Pennines of North Yorkshire. The Ribble Way takes in the wide flood plain of the Ribble estuary, gentle river pastures from Ribchester to Sawley, the splendid gorge west of Gisburn, the superb salmon leap at Staniforth Force and limestone pavements on the flanks of Pen y ghent.
